Ok, last night i was reading the book and 2 pages from the end i burst into tears. It took me ages to stop crying. Every time i read the book i cry even though i know what happens, and i just thought that it was amazing that someone can feel so connected to a character in a book that they cry when something happens. I felt so sorry for Johnny because of the quality of life he had. Constantly being belted around and not being cared for by his parents and always feeling unwanted except when with his friends. And then for Dallas who because of his past had turned cold and resentful. He opened his heart again and Johnny was the one thing in his life he cared about more then himself. He loved Johnny more then anyone in his entire life and to have him taken away like that was heartbreaking. When Dally is shot it’s horrible because you remember that he was like Johnny once. That he cared about other people but it was stripped away from him until he did’nt feel anything anymore and he just 17. Its horrible in the movie too because they are all yelling ” he is just a kid”.
