All my adult life, I’ve heated up faster than other women and stayed hotter longer. Taking temp, not sex!!

I would go out to dance in Philly on a 17 degree night and other gals would be wearing their sweaters and just dancing away. I’d prepare myself in just a blouse and STILL end up going outside to cool down. Whether I’m 135 or 150 lbs. (I’m 5′8″), it’s always the same. I sweat like a man and just drip with it. I live in the Dallas area now and can’t even stand outside to chat with women at night! They may get hot, but none of them sweat like I do. After walking the dog (always after sundown), I’m a dripping mess and always shower at night in summer. Can anyone enlighten me as to why I get more uncomfortable than my own husband?!?!?!? Thanks.

Hormones. Usually they cause women to have cold extremities, but yours are clearly balanced differently than most. If you are REALLY fed up with it you might try going on the pill and seeing if that will regulate them so that you are more comfortable.

You didn’t say how old you were…If you are in your 40’s it could be hormonal. The first thing I would do would be to go to your doctor and discuss your symptoms with him. Excess sweating could be caused by any of the following conditions:

    an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism)
    gout
    rheumatoid arthritis
    tuberculosis
    lymphoma
    hypoglycemia
    parasites
    metabolic dysfunction
nerve damage due to diabetes (autonomic dysfunction) or spinal cord injuries
    liver disease
    vitiligo
psychiatric disorders such as stress, panic attacks or anxiety disorders
    hot flashes associated with menopause

Your doctor may want to perform certain blood tests to rule out any medical conditions. Caffeine, alcohol and certain medications can also cause excessive sweating. I tend to sweat a lot more then other people. I have to take a shower twice a day. I’m really intolerant to the heat.

But, get yourself checked out to make sure you do not have any underlying medical conditions.
